This year’s offering -- Redmi Note 9 Pro -- doesn’t seem any different. Touted as the ‘performance beast’ by Xiaomi, the handset packs impressive specs on paper -- Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SoC, 48MP quad-camera setup, 5020mAh battery and more and the starting price of RS 13,999, makes it sound like a compelling deal. We used the smartphone to find out if it is actually that good or just too good to be true. Read on to find out more:

Design

With the Redmi Note 9 Pro, Xiaomi has introduced a couple of design variations that definitely make the handset stand apart from other Redmi smartphones. The first thing you notice on the device is the camera bump that is nothing but atypical.

You get a centrally-placed quad-camera setup in a neat square design that is quite protruding. Just below the bump, you will see the LED flash in a separate black colour section that gives the illusion of the extended camera bump.

Even though the camera bump on the Redmi Note 9 Pro is pretty extended, the placement or size of it is such that you don’t see it wobble when you place it on a flat surface, a problem that we have been consistently facing with Xiaomi devices.
